Primary Reasons For Back Pain From Exercise

back painIf you’re currently suffering from back pain or have suffered before and are very concerned about recurring back pain, it’s important that you understand what the primary causes of back pain are in many workout programs so that you can be sure that these never become a factor for you.

Let’s have a look at what these reasons are so that you know where to start to stay away from this whole issue.

Shoulder Press

shoulder-press

The first exercise that will cause back pain to develop is the shoulder press if done improperly. What you need to remember with this one is to always keep the abs tight as you press the weight above the head because if you allow them to relax, there is a much greater chance that you may start to adopt a sway back.

Do this and you will be in pain in no time.

Think of squeezing the abs and keeping the bum tight. This will shift your hips in the proper position and reduce the chances that this occurs.

Kim: January 18th.

Sam: Like due date, that sounds like a pregnancy.

Kim: I don’t have it anymore.

Sam: No more kids.

Kim: No more babies.

Sam: No more kids. OK. So step on up.

Kim: OK.

Sam: We’ve got to get this on video. We’ve got to make it official.

Kim: Great.

Sam: Let’s see what you got.

Kim: All right.

Sam: You said 177 or something, right?

Kim: That’s what it was this morning.

Sam: 176.2 on this scale.

Kim: I like this one better.

Sam: So 20 pounds in six weeks so that means we got to get 156.2 on January 18th.

Kim: That’s right.

Sam: Awesome. See you there.

Sam: Good morning, Kim.

Kim: Good morning.

Sam: I know it’s like not even 4:00 o’clock in the morning.

Kim: Not even.

Sam: You’ve been really working hard for six weeks, following instructions. You need to get down to …

Kim: 156.6.

Sam: 156.6, OK. So – to lose 20 pounds.

Kim: Right.

Sam: So let’s see what you got. 158.3 so 18 pounds.

Kim: Yes.

Sam: Congratulations.

Kim: Thank you.

Sam: Now, tell me one thing.

Kim: Yes.

Sam: Is this like the best you’ve been in a while?

Kim: Oh yeah, the best shape I’ve been in, in a while.

Sam: OK.

Kim: I had a knee injury and I took a year off and of course, used that as an excuse.

Sam: OK. But now, you’re 18 pounds lighter.

Kim: Back on track.

Sam: You’re back on track.

Kim: Yes.

Sam: Where are you going from here?

Kim: Ten more.

Sam: Ten more?

Kim: At least.

Chino Hills Weight Loss – Jane’s 6 week challenge result

[spoiler]
Sam: It’s your boy, Sam, from Fitness Concepts with GI Jane, my long-time client. She’s going to step up and take the 6-week transformation. So today is December 10th and we’re going to step up. I think we got February 3rd, right Armando?

Armando: No, no. It’s actually going to be January 18th.

Sam: January 18th is going to be six weeks?

Armando: Yes.

Sam: Oh, we got crunch time through the holidays. Let’s see what you got.

Jane: She’s on?

Sam: She’s on. 146.2. So now, we’re going to get down to 126.2 by January 18th. Are you ready to do this?

Jane: I’m ready.

Sam: Let’s do it.

Sam: GI Jane is in the house. What’s up? Hi, Jane. You’re looking great. You look like a million bucks. Look at that. And of course, we got support, the first transformation winner.

Elaine: Yeah.

Sam: Yeah, looking good. How are you feeling?

Elaine: Great.

Sam: All right.

Jane: Beautiful.

Sam: OK. Enough about you. It’s not your day.

Elaine: It’s not my day. It’s all about Jane.

Sam: It’s all about Jane. So 146.2.

Jane: Right.

Sam: We got – so let’s get down 126.2. You know, you look – I mean look at that waistline.

Elaine: Yeah.

Sam: Look at that waistline.

Elaine: You’re so beautiful.

Sam: Look at that.

Elaine: Sexy.

Sam: Golly! OK. Well, this is the best I’ve seen you in a very long time no matter what the scale says. So let’s see what you got.

Elaine: Take your shoes off.

Jane: Oh, I’m taking my shoes off.

Sam: Hey, hey, hey. You’re about to take all kinds of stuff off of you.

Jane: Whatever works.

Sam: 130.5 so you lost 16.5 pounds. OK. So not quite the 20 pounds we want but I don’t think you could lose anymore.

Jane: Oh, I could lose more.

Sam: No. But I mean like this is like the …

Elaine: Well, you look happy.

Sam: Do that again. Let me see. Do that again. Woohoo! But I mean your waist – Armando, take – hold on a second. Watch this. Get this from me. I want to measure that waist.

Elaine: What’s that song? 36 …

Sam: 36, 24, 36.

Elaine: Yeah, there you go.

Sam: Only if you’re 4’10. Holy Molly! 25-inch waist.

Armando: Wow!

Elaine: Oh my God!

Female Speaker: Yehey!

Sam: 25-inch waist. That’s ridiculous.

Female Speaker: That’s hot.

Sam: Is this the best you’ve been for a long time?

Jane: Yes.

Sam: OK. How long ago were you in this kind of shape?

Jane: Two years.

Sam: Yeah? Two years ago? So this is the best you’ve been in two years.

Jane: Yes.

Sam: OK. Where do we go from here?

Jane: Keep working.

Sam: That’s what I’m talking about. Keep up the good work. You look awesome.

Jane: Fifty is the new forty.

Elaine: Yehey!

Armando: Yehey!

Sam: Fifty is the new thirty, baby. That’s what I say, that’s what I say. We’re getting that 20 years later.
