One type of training that you should consider adding into your workout program if you want to up your calorie burn and enhance your fitness level is drop set training. Many people get into the rut of going into the gym and performing the same old straight set routine they’ve done for ages.
While this may have brought you results initially when you first started it, there’s no denying the fact that now it no longer delivers the progress that you are likely hoping for.
So what can you do to help up your calorie burn, enhance your muscle definition, and take your fitness to new heights?
That’s where drop set training comes into play. With this training strategy you will not only liven up your workouts but you’ll enhance your motivation as well as you’ll be getting far faster results because of it.
Let’s take a quick peak at what you need to know about drop set training.
The very first thing that you’ll want to consider is what drop set training is. Drop set training is a training protocol where you perform one set at your normal weight and then immediately after that set is completed, you’ll drop the weight downwards and perform a second set.
Once that second set is completed, you’ll drop the weight one more time and perform a third and final set, doing as many reps as you can.
When doing this training, you will experience a much higher overall level of fatigue, so expect that you may need slightly longer to rest between each set that you perform.
If you rush through the sets too quickly, you’ll find that you are just unable to sustain the weights you normally would.
